PEOPLE WHO CREATE GNIAZDO

Coordinator

Wiktor Jędrzejewski

He maniacally collects various non-humans for his care. There are now 400,021 of them, most of them bees. In the past, he was involved in party politics. The key to change isn't party activity, so he began working in non-governmental organizations. He was one of the leaders of organizations such as Młode Centrum, Projekt: Polska, and Centrum Cyfrowe, and was behind the creation of the Państwomiasto social center. He engages in rebellious climate activism, promoting climate education, social awareness, and sustainable urban practices.

Marzena Wichniarz

A mother of three, she is an active member of Parents for Climate and collaborates with international climate initiatives. Featured in Forbes Women, she holds a degree in political science and management and works professionally in quality assurance at a research institute. A vegetarian, a lover of permaculture and reducing consumption, she promotes climate education, plant-based meals, and a sustainable lifestyle. She believes in systemic change and collaboration for climate protection and biodiversity.

MarLena

Maria and Lena are longtime climate and human rights activists, as well as journalists. They are also founders of the Activist Journalism Collective. They have been associated with Gniazdo since 2024, co-organizing numerous events and painting walls. They are never without a camera… or on time.
Coordinator

Anna Błasińska

Co-organizer of Vymianka, coordinator of social media and other activities at Gniezno. Co-founder of the "Czuj Bezpiecznie" collective. Full of energy and ideas, she excels at motivating others to action. An independent activist who stumbled upon Gniezno by chance, she immediately became involved in helping renovate the new space. Despite her young age, she manages to juggle her numerous responsibilities with her activism.
Artivist

Kasia Pustoła

An artistic soul and a geyser of creativity. It was thanks to her that the incredibly popular Vymianka initiative was created. Kasia was nominated in the STGU competition for her "Design a Planeta" project, in which she helped us redesign the space on Krucza Street – you can read more about it on the dedicated website. Climate activism is her priority, and art is her tool for driving positive change in the world around her.

Małysz

A fan of The Office and The Big Bang Theory, a lover of cats and all things manual, especially sewing. She cares for over a hundred potted plants that have turned her home into a jungle. An unparalleled master of invoices and Excel, no one can handle spreadsheets like her. In her activism, she combines art with care and support for others. She has been with Gniedź since 2024, mostly (or entirely) because of Łasica.
Coordinator

Kama Siwek

She has been a part of the Gniazdo movement since its inception, when it was still a dream for activists. She led Gniazdo meetings, co-organized Climate Lessons, sanded and painted walls on Krucza Street with the rest of the team, and nurtured community regeneration. For the first few months, she single-handedly built our social media presence. She believes that the grassroots environmental movement needs to join forces, exchange experiences, and share a common vision – this is what she sees as the Gniazdo's mission.
Photographer

Natka

A photographer fascinated by the relationship between humans and nature. An activist of rebellious, nonviolent resistance, she mobilizes society and draws the attention of the authorities to force systemic change. She is the author of "Rebels," a series of cyanotypes exhibited in our Microgallery, at the Circulation(s) festival in Paris, and at the exhibition "Nie wierzą, że staje się już" (They Don't Believe It's Happening Anymore) at the Duży Pokój Studio in Warsaw. Nominated for the 2024 Grand Press Photo for her photograph documenting the brutality of the security services.

Yana

One of the most extravagant souls at Gniazdo, it's no wonder she works at the intersection of art and activism. She first arrived in 2024 and... stayed. She curates the micro-gallery and window displays, and she can master Excel like few others. With equal ease, she introduces new people to the work of tomorrow.
Coordinator

Loren Kamrat

A graphic designer, lobbyist, and activist active since 2019, she co-organizes Vymianka and is an active member of Gniazda. She designs and manages social media for some climate movements, as well as coordinates Gniazda's activities. She creates graphics and posts that you may have seen on our social media profiles. She is passionate about climate change and its impact on society. She is the author of a report on the Odra River entitled "Concrete Lie." In her free time, she creates video games.

Łasica

Łasica is on a mission to improve the world and equalize inequalities. She works daily with people with disabilities and refugees. After hours, she plots how to force the government to act on climate change. She loves dancing, relationships, and keeping order in her nest warehouse.

Cezary

An electrician and computer scientist by training, he can repair sockets, install neon signs, and hold long conversations on all sorts of topics. You won't find him at protests, but he's happy to get involved backstage. He's the one who ensures compliance with health and safety regulations at the venue, ensuring our safety. He doesn't like to travel and has strong ties to Warsaw.
Coordynators

Iza and Piotr Miklaszewscy

Iza and Piotr Miklaszewski, along with their dogs Snupek and Lawa, spent four years hitchhiking and sailing around the world, visiting some 40 countries on five continents. They currently focus on educating people about the human impact on the environment and the related social inequalities. They share their experiences and knowledge through activist movements, school activities, and publications such as the comic book series "Podróże z Pazurem" (Travels with a Claw).

Bułka and Masło

The Gniazdo mascots, true lovers of crisps, industrial music, and compost, they faithfully accompany the team's daily work, usually lounging in their favorite bed – a banana box. Bułka is originally from France but has lived in Warsaw for a long time, where she knows every nook and cranny of the capital's city center. Masło is younger than her friend, born near Warsaw and raised by the Gniazdo activists. Their charisma and unique interests make them favorites of both us and Gniazdo visitors.

Gniazdo is organized
by the Fundacja Aktywizmu Klimatycznego.
